Applied Arts Programs for Youth

The Beautiful Project’s Program Pipeline provides a range of opportunities for youth ages 12+ to engage visual and literary arts for storytelling, healing, and cultural change. Our programs fall under three categories:

  1. Encountering the Arts workshops, which expose youth 12-24 to art as a tool for personal wellness and expression.

  2. Training in the Arts programs, which support Black girls and nonbinary youth in developing their craft and cultural agency.

  3. Leading through the Arts programs, which support the leadership and career development of young creatives.

All of our programs engage the cultural and healing power of the arts, with a particular interest in the contributions and cultural impact of Black women and nonbinary artists. We also partner with mental health experts to provide collective and individual care in support of the mental and emotional wellness of participating youth.
