ENCOUNTER THE ARTS

Encounter the Arts applied workshops are offered in collaboration with community partners to introduce youth aged 12 and up to using various literary and art mediums as tools for self-expression, wellness, and social change.

The following workshops are available for community program sites:

Community Photowalk: using DSLR cameras, participants walk their communities and document its undertold stories through their lenses.

Pop-up Portraiture: participants create visual affirmations in collaboration with a portrait photographer.

Portraits & Poetry: participants engage in free verse poetry in conversation with pictures of themselves in a personal wellness exercise.

Art Exhibit Wellness Walks: participants tour local exhibited work and engage in discussion and responsive writing or art-making that explores wellness as it relates to the exhibit.

If you’re interested in serving as a program site for an Encounter the Arts workshop, please submit an interest form - we would love to partner with you!
